Logo & Select Extensions
Mountain Hardwear is a storefront located in Richmond CA that focusses upon outdoor performance gear. The material covers equipment for the weekend hike to the hardcore extremes of camping and exploration. They offer bags, equipment, camping materials, and apparel. It is also a subdivision of Columbia Sportswear.
My goal in rebranding this company was to create a sturdy yet clean logotype for high function-ality. The logo consists of the hardware part and a mountain range within, and can be paired with the type or stand alone depending on its usage.
Below is the original to the left, and my recreation on the right.
Our other goal was to create three promotional postcards or billboard designs, able to translate in both scenarios. I decided to carry the visual language and used negative space to tie them together.
For extra usage I went ahead and created some quick mockups of flat logo merchandise. The backpack and jacket are their products for which I imposed my elements over them. Plus who doesn't love a good patch if you really love to get out there and explore. Gotta collect them all!
